I was honoured to be one of the 50 artists selected from Australia and New Zealand to participate in the Uchiwa Fan Exhibition. Everyone took home one plain handmade Japanese fan and brought back a compeltely one of a kind masterpiece. Fans were sold for an Australian $60 with the aim of selling as many as possible in one week to enable the gallery to send the much needed funds in a short time. 100% of the money raised from the sale was donated directly to the Japanese Red Cross in an effort to fund disaster relief.
I was so happy to have been a part of such a special event, and to have my fan sell so early on the opening night. That was really special!
